Standing waves  --  Reflected waves that alternately cancel and reinforce at various distances. An interference pattern characterized by stationary nodes and antinodes. Tubby sound in a small room of booth from low frequency and poor response--caused by long waves with short reflection pattern. Almost all sound present goes directly into the mike producing "unnatural" sound presence.
