Restoration Versions

You may order up to 3 (three) Restoration Versions of a recording.
|
|
Restoration Versions may be ordered at the time when
the original recording is submitted or, for an order we have already
processed, up to 60 days from the date when
your original order was shipped back to you (as documented on the Order
Tracking System). |
|
If the Restoration Version is ordered after you have received your
original back, it is NOT necessary to ship back to us the original
recording (Restoration Version will be returned to you with free
shipping). We keep the computer project files for 60 days. That's
why it is important that Restoration Versions are ordered within 60
days. On the 61st day after shipping date the files are deleted.
After that time, the original recording must be resubmitted as a new
Transfer with Sound Restoration order.

You may order one or two additional Restoration Version(s) at the
same time with your initial order (for a max. total of three
versions). Document your preferences in
the "Special Instructions" box of the Order Form. |
|
You may order additional Restoration Version(s) after you have
received your initial order, listened to the CD and decided you would like
to have a different version (up to 60 days from the date your initial
order was shipped back). Document your preferences in

MP3 CD's
|
|
You can now get a CD of your project converted to MP3 for easy loading into your MP3 player.
|
|
We offer a choice of three compression levels (choose on the Order Form):
A. High Quality (lower compression ratio - approx. 9:1 compression)
B. Medium Quality (approx. 14:1 compression)
C. Higher Compression (lower quality - approx. 18:1 compression)
Compression is performed with the latest algorithms that provide outstanding quality (even in the higher compression modes) |

You may order one, two or all compression versions for your project. That way, you'll have a "Higher
Compression" version for your MP3 player and a "High
Quality" version for your PC or home stereo. See ordering
options on the Order Form.

You may even combine up to 25 different transfer/restoration projects or
compression versions (from the same order) on one MP3 CD (or DVD, if it
doesn't fit a CD). |

Individual
Restoration Units
|
|
The regular Sound Restoration service provides one
(1) restoration per CD. This works best if the material to be restored has similar
characteristics for the entire CD. If your CD includes recordings from different
sources (such as several 78's, or several tape recordings, etc.) one restoration can not
possibly bring the best out of each recording. Restoring each source
individually is recommended.

For rare or unique recordings request an Individual
Restoration Unit for each song, or at least for each
source (record or tape). |
|
Home made records (78 or 33 1/3) are very noisy and take A
LOT longer to restore. Therefore, an Individual
Restoration Unit is built into the price of each Home Made
Records transfer.
For better results, one Individual Restoration
Unit may be purchased for each side/track.

RUSH Service
|
|
Our normal turnaround time for Audio work is about two to three
weeks (at our studios). As described on just about every page of our
web site, the "Normal" turnaround time is an average.
While most orders are completed in this "average" turnaround
time, it is entirely possible that processing time will be longer.
If your order is urgent and/or if this uncertainty is not acceptable, you
may use one of our RUSH Services and get your project completed in 1 week
or 72 hours (time in our studios).

We offer three levels of Rush Services:
- STANDARD Rush Service - 1 week check-in to check-out (Example: check-in at our studio on Tuesday, check-out the following week Tuesday)
- EXPEDITED Rush Service - 72 hours check-in to check-out weekdays (Example: check-in at our studio Tuesday at 4:00 PM, check-out at 4:00 PM Friday)
- SUPER EXPRESS Service (Saturday included) - 72 hours check-in to check-out including Saturdays (Example: check-in at our studio Wednesday at 10:00 AM, check-out at 10:00 AM Saturday) |

The Rush Service price depends on the FORMAT OF THE ORIGINAL RECORDING that is being transferred. We divide formats into two Categories:
- CATEGORY 1 FORMATS: LP, Cassette, Micro Cassette, DAT Tape, MiniDisc, Reel-to-reel tapes
- CATEGORY 2 FORMATS: 78 rpm Commercial Releases, Home Made Records, 16 inch Transcriptions, Edisons and Acoustic discs, Wire Recordings |

The Rush Service price depends on the NUMBER OF TRANSFER PROJECTS being ordered at this time.

What you get:

Labeled CD.
|
|
For each LP transferred you get a CD, stored in a
jewel case with a transparent cover, and labeled. We do not stick a
label on the CD, we actually print ON the CD itself (for increased CD
life).

The labeling includes the artist/composer name and
album name, and looks like this:

NOTE: We print on the
CD label 2-3 lines of text. There is no room (or budget) for
complicated, multi-line labels. |

Color CD cover and tracks list (option).
|
|
|
You may order a Color Cover and Track List.
The Color Cover will be an exact representation of the album
cover, reduced to the size of the jewel case. We have upgraded to a
Laser Printer, the color reproduction is amazing! I am amazed how
some of our covers look better than the original! We keep the price
of this option artificially low, so ordering won't break your bank (the
Laser Printer almost broke our bank when we bought it. . .)
