Useful LP records shipping information:

Point35.gif (7143 bytes) Average LP's size of LP's (in jacket): just short of 13 inches square
Point45.gif (7143 bytes) Most LP's fit in a 13 wide x13 deep box
Point30.gif (7143 bytes) Average height of 20 LP's (in jackets): just short of 3 inches
Point45.gif (7143 bytes) Average weight of 20 LP's (in jackets): about 10 pounds (less for more "modern" LP's, more for older LP's)
Point30.gif (7143 bytes) If you ship by UPS, you may track your package all the way to our front door, or, when we return the order, back to you!

Point35.gif (7143 bytes) Please do not ship your records to us in unprotected packaging.  Avoid shipping precious records in single-layer packaging, such as record mailers.
Point45.gif (7143 bytes) I am spending $60 to overnight my recordings to you. Will your processing time be less?  Please read the answer.

UPS Shipping Advisory:

Based on our own experience and feedback we are receiving from our customers, at this time we are  recommending to our clients to avoid using UPS ground service.   We do this reluctantly -- our local UPS delivery man is a 20+ year UPS employee and is the kindest person in the business.  We base our recommendation on the following:

btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Reports and evidence of rough handling;
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Inferior customer support;
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Complete lack of representation and accountability at the local level (UPS never gives out local phone numbers).
We will withdraw this recommendation when UPS will change its policies and the way it handles packages sent by ground service.

USPS Priority Mail Advisory:

The Post Office got really greedy!
When the postal rates went up again in 2007, they went up in an uncontrolled, inflationary manner.  Priority Mail boxes sent to US zones 5-8 (that means, farther from our location in the US)  over 1 cubic foot in volume are now charged by "Dimensional Weight".  At "Dimensional Weight" the Priority Mail rates are now completely ridiculous! That means no more large and fluffy boxes!  Use smaller boxes and pack them tight.  If you are shipping to us a large and fluffy box, and we must use your box for the return shipment the shipping rate will be HIGHER than our order form calculates.  We will adjust our shipping charges accordingly to cover these costs.  We are sorry for the inconvenience that the Post Office greed is causing you (and all of us).

To have your recordings restored and transferred to CD:

btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes)  Step 1: Pack and ship your recordings to us

btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes)  Step 2: We receive, transfer to CD and ship back to you your recordings and your CD's

btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes)  Step 3: You receive your recordings (now you can relax knowing that those babies are back home safely), listen to the CD's, and realize in amazement that we DID perform magic indeed on your recordings.

Packing:

btzbul1a.gif (1801 bytes) Easy Method (one-stop packing & shipping!)

btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Take your recordings to one of the thousands of professional shipping outlets throughout the country.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) They will do the best job of packing and protecting.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) The fee they charge is very affordable, considering the time you save, the convenience of one-stop packing and shipping, and the fact that they will do a professional packing job.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) These are some of the shipping outlets we are familiar with in our area:

btzbul1a.gif (1801 bytes) Do-It-Yourself Methods

btzbul3a.gif (159 bytes)  The classic: Double Box

btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Put the records in the first box
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Use filler to make sure that the records will stay stacked and will not shift in transit
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Close and tape the first box
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Put this box in a second, larger box
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) The US Post Office sells a 20x14x10 box, office supply stores carry similar boxes
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Use filler on all sides in such a way that the inner box does not directly touch the outer box
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) This method will protect your recordings from shocks and punctures
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Write on all sides of the package: FRAGILE Musical Recordings DO NOT DROP
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Enclose an itemized list of the recordings

btzbul3a.gif (159 bytes)  The Sandwich

btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Stack your records.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Wrap them TIGHTLY in bubble wrap (the kind with large bubbles).   Make sure you cover all edges.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) You now have a sandwich: bubbles on the outside, records on the inside.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Use a box that is larger than your sandwich.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Spread a layer of "peanuts" filler.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Place the sandwich on the filler.  Now cover with "peanuts".  Make sure that the sandwich does not directly touch the box.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Write on all sides of the package: FRAGILE Musical Recordings DO NOT DROP
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Enclose an itemized list of the recordings

btzbul3a.gif (159 bytes)  The Pancake

btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Stack your records.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Put two pieces of thick cardboard on the top and bottom of the record stack.  The cardboard pieces should be slightly larger than the records.   Wrap tightly.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Use a cardboard box that is still flat, NOT formed into a box (or if it is already formed into a box, open the flaps and flatten it.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Tape the box on three sides.  Now you have a pancake box, with one side open and three sides sealed.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Stuff the pancake with some filler, then your records (protected by cardboard), and more filler.  Make sure the record stack does not directly touch the pancake.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Write on all sides of the package: FRAGILE Musical Recordings DO NOT DROP
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Enclose an itemized list of the recordings

Shipping:

btzbul1a.gif (1801 bytes) US Postal Service     (RECOMMENDED)

PRIORITY MAIL

btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) We recommend Priority Mail as the best service for small packages.
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) Priority Mail is relatively inexpensive, it delivers in 2-3 days (Saturdays included) and has an excellent record for handling small packages
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) The United States Postal Service has a service and rates specially designed for shipping audio recordings.  It is called MEDIA MAIL (formerly SPECIAL STANDARD MAIL).
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) This service is recommended for heavy packages.  It is not as fast as Priority Mail, but it is just as safe (and less expensive).
btzbul2a.gif (212 bytes) If the recordings are packed properly this method is reasonably safe.  We have received or sent hundreds of records safely using this service.

The message below is updated each time there is a change in the status of our service.  If you wonder if we are in business, the answer is: Yes we are, and this is the status of our service:

PLEASE READ
Important Scheduling Notice

At this time we are booked with work commitments until October 2008.  New orders placed on this Web site will be processed in the order received, beginning early October 2008.   Our Receiving Department will accept and date-stamp packages received, for processing in order in which they were received.  The packages WILL NOT be entered into our Order Tracking System until early October 2008 (please do not panic if you do not see your order in the Order Tracking System).   Email inquiries received after July 7 will be answered October 2008.  Phone support will resume at the same time.
Should we develop any available processing capacity before October 2008, we will update this message.  Please stay tuned.
Please feel free to submit orders at this time, for processing in October 2008.  Please DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER if it must be processed before October 2008.  We anticipate a heavy workload in October and November 2008.  If you have projects for Holiday Season 2008, may we suggest that you send in your order as early as possible.  Orders will be processed in the order received.  Wise customers order early

If you wonder "is it worth submitting an order now and waiting for processing in October", we think YES.  We have hundreds of loyal customers who would not think of sending their work to anyone else but to us and they think that the wait is worthwhile.  Submitting your order now, early "in line", will ensure much quicker processing in October. The closer you place the order to October, the longer the wait for order completion in October/November.
We thank you, our loyal customers and new clients, for your tremendous support!
All the best,
Cristian Coban, Ph.D.
President, CVC Productions
