8 RPM (8 1/3 RPM) Records - What you get for your $:
- All 8 RPM (8 1/3 RPM) records submitted are transferred and mastered on specialized equipment for best sound reproduction and in order to preserve all frequencies as originally recorded.
- Each 8-rpm record is cleaned in a professional record cleaning machine prior to playback.
- The needle is deep cleaned and conditioned before each play.
- The record is wiped again before playing each side.
- Playback and recording on professional equipment (each of our interconnect cables costs more than the average discounter's studio...).
- Sound Restoration is applied if selected (no Sound Restoration for Thrifty Transfers).
- Color CD Cover and Track List is prepared (if selected).
- An MP3 CD of this project (if selected).
- CD is cut into tracks by human beings who know where a new track should begin. We do not use automatic cutting into tracks. (Thrifty Transfers: CD has one track.).
- Continuous speech recordings: cut into logical segments, approx. 10-minute long tracks.
- CD is printed (we do not use glued-on labels).
- CD is quality checked.
- CD is delivered in "classic jewel-case" (with optional Color CD Cover and Track List).

NOTE:
- A CD holds maximum 80 minutes. 8 RPM records are usually longer than 80 minutes. For records over 80 minutes we will make a set of two (or several) CDs. In that case, for ordering Extra CD Copies and Color CD Covers you will need a matching number per set. Example: If the master set has 3 CDs, you will need 3 Color CD Covers and a set of 3 Extra CD Copies. If the length of the record is printed on the record or jacket, you will know how many CDs will be needed by simple arithmetic, knowing that the maximum length of a CD is 80 minutes. If you do not know the length, for CD Covers and Extra CD Copies you may select "1" and after we determine the length, we will adjust the order to the correct number.
