We accept wires compatible with the "Webster Chicago" system (approx. 2.25 inch hub diameter and 2.75 inch outside diameter).  If the spool has these dimensions, the wire is compatible regardless of the brand.
  Wire recordings require specialized equipment for playback.  They are more expensive to record.
  We ask our customers not to send in wire recordings that are damaged.  Occasionally we receive recordings in bad shape.  If a wire breaks excessively or has other playback problems we will charge a Recording Fee of $14.25 (or multiples of $14.25, depending of the problem) per wire reel. 
  Some wire recordings may require more restoration work than the time allotted by the basic rate.   We will be happy to work on restoring these recordings at our standard studio rate of $115 per hour.
  We ask our customers to use common sense in what to expect for final quality: if a wire is in horrible condition, the CD will NOT sound perfect.  It will sound better than the original wire, but better than "horrible" is "very bad"!
  We ask our customers to be aware that, due to the condition of the wire (such as wire that is twisted or has many "knots") the wire may become hopelessly entangled on our wire playback machine.  This is a VERY unlikely scenario (it happens only about once every 5 years or so).  It is more likely to happen after we have recorded everything on the computer, at rewind.  If the "hopeless entanglement" happens after we have recorded to computer, no audio information will be lost and everything will be transferred to CD.  In any such case we will not be held accountable for wire entanglements as this is due to the condition of the wire.  Please do not submit wires if you are not willing to take this chance. 

  Do not ask us to make editorial decisions, i.e. listen to the contents of the wire and only put on CD selections that meet certain criteria.  We are a transfer/conversion service and do not have the possibility to make editorial decisions. 
  Do not send in wires that are tangled up or wires that do not have 1 (one) clear beginning.
  Do not send in wires that are not properly spooled.  A wire needs to be properly spooled (by the machine) in order to be playable.  If a wire was spooled by hand, it will not be playable.
