"I found a 78 record in a box of old stuff that said it was recorded in 1950 and was a recording my my sister when she was 4 years old singing Jingle Bells to Santa. I had no idea if the record was any good, but I took a chance and sent it in to have it transferred to a CD. I am so thrilled with the result! It was worth every penny. The CD is ..."

Select video length LaserDisc / CD Video / CD-V disc transfers

This page is a video project length selector for the following LaserDisc formats:

  • LaserDiscs.
  • CD Video (please note that VCD is an entirely different format) discs.
  • CD-V discs.
  • Please make sure that the video material you submit for transfer is in perfect working condition and plays correctly. We do not accept and are not able to repair scratched, cracked or otherwise defective LaserDiscs. We cannot improve playback for LaserDiscs experiencing "Laser Rot" or "LaserDisc Rot". Some LaserDiscs may play with skips or other tracking issues. If the LaserDisc you submit plays with defects, such defects will be present in the transfer we produce.

I don't know the length of my LaserDisc

  • If the length is not marked on the jacket, it is not a problem. Make your selection based on a reasonable guess. When we get your LaserDisc at our studio we will determine the exact length and charge the correct amount based on our current prices. Even if you picked the wrong length, your video transfer and conversion will be made for the correct length and will be priced correctly.
  • We will transfer (and charge) for the amount of time that a LaserDisc is RECORDED with ANY type of material. This includes previews, advertising, test patterns, test tones, interesting or uninteresting material, and such.
  • IMPORTANT: If the LaserDisc you submit was recorded for longer than what you selected when you placed your order, we will consider that as an oversight on your part and we will NOT STOP the transfer abruptly at the exact minute up to which you placed your order. Instead, we will continue processing the video transfer and charge accordingly for the entire LaserDisc. If you would like us to stop the transfer EXACTLY at the minute up to which you placed the order for (and do not want us to continue, process and charge as described above), you MUST enter that instruction in the SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS box of the order form and/or in a note enclosed with the video material.

LaserDiscs sets longer than 180 minutes (3 hours)

In order to preserve video quality, maximum length per video transfer is 180 minutes.
LaserDisc sets longer than 180 minutes will be processed and charged as two transfers of appropriate length.
Example: A 4-hour LaserDisc set will be processed and charged as two 120-minute transfers.
